Facebook to be Number One Spot for London 2012 Olympics

Facebook is on track to becoming the one-stop shop for fans looking for information about London’s 2012 Olympics with a new hub with links to individual athletes, teams and sports.

Fans can now also follow teams from various countries, including Team Ireland, the Swiss Olympic Team and, of course, the official London 2012 Facebook Page.

Facebook has also launched a Page for the Olympic Games where fans can follow the action. That Page already has over 2.8 million fans.

Facebook’s embrace of the Olympics comes as the social network increasingly tries to position itself as a forum for news and access to celebs a la Twitter! Stay tuned for more Facebook related news as we hear it.
